A Journey of Self Seeking Heart: From Bandung to the World - Culture and Resilience

Born in the vibrant city of Bandung, Indonesia, I am the youngest and only daughter in my family, cherished and adored.
With my father hailing from the lush landscapes of Sumatra and my mother, a proud Sundanese, I was immersed in a rich cultural heritage that has significantly shaped my identity.
Growing up, I formed my sense of self amidst the colorful tapestry of traditions and values that my family embodied—values that continue to guide me throughout my life.
I have two amazing older brothers who have always supported me with their never-ending love and affection.
They are my role models, my best friends, my rivals, and my home. Through them, I gained wonderful sisters, allowing me to share many girly experiences that I yearned for, as I never had the opportunity to do so at home being the only woman in the family, past and present.

Life took a poignant turn when I faced the heartbreaking loss of my mother to cancer.
Her battle taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and the importance of cherishing every moment.
Though her absence left a void, her legacy became a driving force in my life, inspiring me to pursue my dreams with a relentless determination that often reminds me of her spirit.
My academic journey began at Parahyangan University in Bandung, where my thirst for knowledge flourished alongside my passion for fashion and culture.
Those formative years were marked by exploration and a profound awakening to who I would become.
However, my life took another significant turn 21 years ago when I moved to Australia. Stepping into a new world filled with opportunities and challenges was both exhilarating and daunting.
The transition wasn't easy, but I embraced the Australian spirit while blending it with my Indonesian roots.
It was here that my love for coffee really took off—a comforting sip that lifts my spirits and connects me to home.
At the same time, my fondness for all things pink became a fun way to express who I am, a colorful bridge between my past and present.
Life took a tough turn when I lost my dad while I was pregnant with my youngest son.
It broke my heart; after my mum passed, my dad was our source of inspiration and strength.
Not being able to attend his funeral due to health issues left a mark on my heart that lingers to this day.
In Burnie, I discovered a wonderful Muslim community that felt like family.
Bonding with brothers and sisters from around the world, we shared our journeys as migrants, which strengthened my faith and inspired me to grow into a better version of myself.
Together, we navigate our different backgrounds while embracing the common threads in our beliefs.

Now, I’m a proud mom to three amazing sons who bring so much joy into my life.
My husband is not only my partner; he’s my best friend and biggest supporter.
Together, we’ve built a loving home grounded in the values my parents taught me, nurturing an environment where our boys can explore their passions and appreciate the richness of diversity.
I also take great joy in being an aunt to my nieces and nephews, both by blood and by choice. ❤️
In my career, I work as a business director and manage a few different ventures while staying actively involved in our local community.
I’m passionate about advocating for diversity and fighting against violence, especially towards women and disadvantage people.
I believe it’s essential to empower young people; I want to help them find their paths and navigate their own adventures with confidence and strength.
Travel has become a big part of my life, giving me the chance to dive into different cultures and perspectives.
Every trip offers a fresh view of the world, reminding me of its beauty and complexity.
I love fashion and photography, and I find joy in collecting unique pieces that tell the stories of the places I visit, all while celebrating the rich culture I carry within me.

Plus, I love capturing memories with my camera, freezing those special moments in time.
In my spare time, you’ll sometimes find me out riding motorbikes with my husband.
There’s something liberating about the open road, a perfect escape from everyday life.
Photography allows me to capture the essence of these experiences, freezing moments of joy and beauty for me to revisit and cherish.
These passions not only make me happy but also spark my creativity and broaden my outlook.
As I journey through life, I aim to honor my past, nurture my present, and inspire the future for my sons and the young people I’m lucky to support.
My life is a beautiful narrative in motion—one that celebrates love, growth, and endless possibilities.
